My Lastest Projects!

A neighbor of mine ordered these quilt racks from me for Christmas presents this year. I ended up making 5 altogether. They were quite the project. I cut each oar out of a piece of poplar then sanded it and shaped it to look like an oar. Then routered the design on each oar and then stained them. That is the summed up version of my work. It took me about 10 hours to make each one. That of course being spanned out over a whole month but I did get them done and they turned out great.

After Thanksgiving I started cutting out all the jeans I had collected all year and started on my quilt top. Well as you can see I didn't just stop at one. So far I have completed 3. I still have tons of jeans so I'm sure these won't be the only ones I make this season. They will sure make great Christmas gifts! I can't wait to give them away! Now I just need to get to the store and buy some flannel and batting.

Kelly, you are so talented! You are inspiring me to get out my pile of old jeans and make a quilt top.

You can never call me CRAFTY again! You way out do me in talent and super craftiness. That is amazing how much you accomplished and all of those projects look great. Someday I want a quilt rack for Christmas...hint hint for future Christmases to come, although it had better not have to take you 10 hours!

ps- I still have K & K's presents here that I forgot to send with you. We'll get them to you eventually--
